It is now a Multinational technology company with US$89.95 Billion revenue. It develops, manufactures, license, and supports and sells computer software. Bill Gates and Paul Allen built Microsoft on April 4th, 1975. Since mid 1980 it has reached the pick of dominance of personal computers Operating system market with MS-DOS. Starting from 1990s it has explored and spread its area of operation from operating system market. After it’s success in the marketing of Operating system it has made a large number of corporate acquisitions. The most prominent ventures were like LinkedIn in Dec, 2016 and Skype Technologies in May, 2011.

As per 2017, the revenue gained by Microsoft is US$ 89.95 billion. It has its headquarters in Redmond, Washington known as Redmond Campus. The campus encompasses over 8 million ft2 (750,000 m2) of office space. And it has also reached to an expansion of 30,000–40,000 employees. Since Satya Nadella took over as CEO in 2014, the company has scaled back on hardware and has instead focused on cloud computing. Certainly it was a move that helped the company’s shares reach its highest value since December 1999. The very popular logo was introduced on August 23, 2012.
